My eldest son is approaching secondary school and over the past year he has really got into the Second World War and so we’re off to La Cote de Nacre in Normandy!
It doesn’t matter whether it’s a film, computer game or air fix model he loves everything to do with it.
This past year in school they’ve done a lot about both World War I and II and I’ve watched several films with him including “Where Eagles Dare” and “The Great Escape” along with a few others. He’s also had a variety of air fix models which we’ve made together.
As a bit of a special treat I spoke to the misses and we decided to take the kids on a short break to Normandy to see some of the museums and cemeteries to educate them further about the war.
We often go camping in France and La Cote de Nacre is in an ideal location with lots of the museums and gun emplacements within easy travelling distance.
We are hoping to spend as much time out and about exploring but we’ll also ensure that we have a bit of fun too by utilising the swimming pool.
Hopefully we’ll be able to share what we think of La Cote de Nacre and some photos of the campsite and places we’ve seen and visited when we come back.
